1.
Is the kit suitable for a first time builder?
Yes The kit is suitable for the first time or experienced builder.
We have tried to remove as much of the difficult work from the kit
as possible. The Manual is well illustrated and logical backed up
by online support if necessary.

We spend over
700 hours in the factory making the components and forming the
airframe structure in jigs. |

Approximately 98% of all
the parts are pre-formed in the factory. All difficult bending,
folding and shaping work has been done. |

Fuselage is supplied partially asssembled as shown on construction

The
wing is totally jigged in the factory and then disassembled.
All you need to do is reassembly it, drill the remaining holes
and rivet |

Wing has been made in a jig and pre-assembled to verify accuracy

3. Owners Build Time.
Approximately 1200+ hours depending on skill level and chosen options.
4. Are any special
skills/tools required?
Some special tools are needed - see Tools Required
If you are reasonably good with your hands you shouldn’t have
any problems. Nearly all the construction work for the builder consists
of filing, deburring, fitting and riveting.
5. How much space
is needed for the build?
The aircraft can be built in a standard double garage. On completion
and when fitting both wings more space is needed
6. Is it approved
by the British CAA/PFA?
The Supermarine aircraft Mk26 Spitfire is approved to build and
fly in the UK.
Nearly all countries have slightly different regulations concerning
homebuilt aircraft. You will need to check with your local Sports
Aviation Association about the regulations and procedures you must
comply with.
7. Is there a two-seater
option?
We now only build the two-seater Mk 26 Spitfire
8. Does it de-rig
for storage?. If so how long does it take?
It certainly does. The wings can be removed and the aircraft can
be trailed in under an hour. So there is no reason you have to pay
hanger costs as you can take your Spitfire home with you.
9. How many kits are
complete or are nearing completion?
There are approx 21 kits complete and flying as of June 2006 with
another 6 kits world wide due to be completed this year out of close
to 80 kits presently under construction world wide.

If I come visit you, is a test flight possible?
Unfortunately not at the moment but we do invite you to visit our
factory in Brisbane.
11. Do you have a
demonstration video?
Yes We also have CD Rom version and a DVD.They are priced at $30.
You need to send your address and state what format your player
uses - PAL or NTSC(USA)
13. Are there any
kits under construction in the UK?
We have in excess of 15 kits under construction in the UK with two
examples flying and another close to completion. We are expecting
another two aircraft to be flying or near to in 2006 in the UK.
14. Kit Contents
All the Airframe components are included as part of the kit. Also
included are all the required rivets, bolts, control wires, undercarriage
and manual etc. All that you need to buy to complete the Aircraft
is the engine, propeller, instruments, paint and some consumables
such as glue.
15. Dimensions of
kit crate (for shipment)
The aircraft will be shipped in a wooden crate with dimensions of
approximately 3 x 4.25 x 16.5 feet (or 1m x 1.3m x 5.2 m).
